Incorporation, legal structuring and initial operations have been funded by the founder. The company has no external equity.
Joshua Westbrock has joined as CTO. He was formerly Principal ECLSS Engineer at Northrop Grumman on the HALO module of NASA's Lunar Gateway. Spark, a 6U CubeSat pathfinder for on-orbit AI inference, is in design and targeted for launch in Q3 2027. Five R&D projects are registered in Luxembourg and are IP-Box eligible. Industrial cooperation is underway with Luxembourg and European partners, and a business plan was submitted to the Luxembourg Space Agency in July 2026.
Nova Lux Orbital operates compute and optical connectivity in orbit. Satellites process Earth observation, SAR and RF data on board and return processed intelligence instead of raw imagery. The aim is to bring space assets into the cloud age: missions get answers in seconds rather than waiting for a ground-station pass, and pay for capacity rather than building their own infrastructure.
